The last time I needed one I did. The idiot on the phone at caa sent me a normal truck after me arguing with her that it wouldn't get under my car. Sure enough a while later he came and said no way and radioed for a flatbed. That guy was apologetic even though it wasn't his fault and he was extremely cautious with my car. He even made it so when we took it off it rolled right into the garage. I only had 25 on me but he didn't even want to take it. I insisted and off he went. Some of them are nice guys.

Is your vote sometimes then?
LOL
I think with CAA it's different for sure.. and that is an in the moment thing, but with other private companies I generally feel like I'm already being extorted enough.

No. If I'm not using CAA they charge like $200 to tow me 5 km. Why would I tip a guy for charging me so much for 15 minutes of work? Plus they scratch my car every time with those magnetic lights.

CAA I never have but I think I might start. Although I've had them try to screw money out of me or just give me terrible service, as well, but it's more rare.

I did $10....
Crappy tire road side assistance was dealing with it and it was an off hours emergency call for him....he was polite and easy going....far from a ****** so I figured he deserved it.

A short story, answer, sometimes. Couple years ago i bought a piece of crap jeep commander from autopark in burlington, thought it was great until two months later driving from where I live back home to St. Catharine's and on the QEW the diff blew out and sent a thousand parts all over the highway. First time ever I bought the extended warranty and it had emergency roadside assistance. I called, ask for a tow right back from Grimsby to Burlington to the dealership. Took the guy two hours to come, when he got there he said I only had coverage for 10 km. I didn't know, I was ******, stuck and with my two your sons with me. So he charges me $100 cash to take it back to autopark. They were closed so I go there the next day and the sales guy ho we bought it from said the tow driver ripped me off for $100, as 8 had coverage for 200 kms. In had no idea what tow company it was, but autopark was great and gave me the $100 back.
Locked my keys in my van this winter, with it running, Lol don't ask, anyways used my roadside through my statefasrm, guy was there in 10 minutes had it open in seconds, I left him $20 and had to force him to take it.

Ya, no.

I use CAA and always offer the drivers a bottle of water or cold pop when the drop off at my house. Most take me up on it and appreciate it.

what about if your a CAA member and specifically request MotoLimo to tow?

i guess it seems that most don't tip, so maybe they not expecting to be tipped. that ok with me, because i don't want to spend more money then i have too.

Had CAA tows a couple times now , drivers were great. Really good guys. Also had them for calls with a car.

Had to use an independent once, guy was ok, tow was covered by insurance company, but man, did I learn a lot that day - The Cops really Hate those independant towies..I mean really hate them. Long story, glad the staff at the reporting centre were really really helpful with me .
