Tim's Credit Card

Should I get a Tim's Credit Card @ 26% interest to buy my daily small double/double or stand on a street corner and beg for loose change.
I have calculated that I need to spend $68,700.00 per year on the card to get a free coffee per day.
If I do not pay off the balance each month the interest will be $17000.00 per year.
If I pay cash for my D/D the cost will be $602.00 per year.

You've done a lot of research, Almost every credit card I can think of now has some sort of "rewards" so no surprise to see a Tim's card.
These "Branded" cards seem to be a trend towards younger clients that typically don't have a grasp on financial responsibility, so the 26% interest make a lot of sense as most users will likely not pay the balance off each payment cycle and I am sure Tim's get's a cut.

Or you can get a coffee machine and some drip coffee . New machine at CTC .$49 , years supply of crap equivalent to Tim . $90 . $150 a year and your done.
Consumer credit cards need to offer serious value to be considered worthy , I don’t see Tim’s as one .

I'm thinking of getting a virtual card.
Some places where you can sign up in a few seconds online, are incredibly inconvenient to cancel from.

I use a Milita 1 cup drip cone ($5.00 and its almost 30 years old) $3.00 for 100 filters and I splurge on 930 gram cans of Tim Horton's fine grind.
I only buy the coffee when it goes on sale at Canadian Tire and buy several cans at a time.
I use evaporated milk instead of cream and buy 50 cans when it is on sale for 1/2 price.
The "begging" on a street corner may be far more lucrative if I get the app for my phone that lets me process credit cards.

I wouldn't put it past those vultures to send the account to collections. Their whole business model is built on making it almost impossible to ever cancel. If someone found a way out, that threatens their business.
Kid got a fraudulent charge on his card and reported it. It was removed and a new card issued. The following month, the same charge showed up on his new card. I'm hoping this isn't the new normal.

If people want better coffee for not much money buy beans and a hand grinder (<$40 for a Hario, half that if you roll the dice with a random chinesium brand). Chuck hand grinder into a cordless drill to make it easier/faster. Don't go full speed as the hand grinder bushing won't appreciate that. With that and an aeropress, you will kick the ass of almost every store bought coffee and you are at much less than $100 invested. I have a decent grinder but still use the hand grinder for travelling or if someone wants a cup of different beans (normally decaf).

Tim hortons store coffee is brown and water. It is not coffee.

Tim Horton's coffee is good only because of the 18% butterfat crean.
I have noticed most people who drink coffee black don't like tim's

Wow. My wife and I both got fraudulent charges on our cards last year. They are used in mutually exclusive locations. One of the pre-authorized charges moved to the new card number without us doing anything.

Also, on that front, some of the charges are annoying to track down. I should have one netflix charge per month. I had two. Mastercard asked me which one was the real one. Obviously I didn't know that without further digging. I don't pay attention to the day that netflix gets added to the credit card.

I'm actually on the other end, I enjoy their Dark Roast coffee black. No other coffee from them.

As for at home...have a good machine at home and mix the Starbucks Verona, with the COSTCO Vanilla coffee in a ratio that works...delicious.

I drink too much coffee...

I'm too lazy for that. My coffee machine has a hopper for beans and a burr grinder. Put in a coffee filter, add water, press button, walk away.

Back in the distant past I had a credit amount on my Visa card.
They paid me a whole 1/2 percent for the use of my money.
I am old enough to remember 22% interest was considered usury and came with a jail sentence.
Since we are reminiscing about the good old times does anybody out there remember 1974 Wage and Price Controls!!

That's fine too just more money. Switching from ground a year ago to ground now makes a big difference. I was just pointing out that you don't need a $1000 grinder to make a big difference (and a manual burr grinder isn't much more than a propeller grinder that has far worse results).

I drink black coffee and Tim's is not the worst that I have had.
