Hi, I was wondering if anyone has a Time Sert kit with a tap for an M12 x 1.5 Time Sert. Would be willing to pay a user fee. Thanks.

What is that? A tap & die set? I have those but never look thru it

Sent from my phone using my paws

Tap And die is to cut threads. This is to fix a hole with mangled threads

Contacted distributor here. I need to purchase a kit, which are $280 each, same kit from US is $100. Kit comes with drill bit, counter bore, tap, and bolt to install insert, plus 5 inserts. I only need the tap and insert. They won't sell individual parts unless you've purchased a kit already. Inserts are $5.75each but you have to buy a bag of 10. Oh well. Thanks in advance.

M12x1.5 Timeserts are sold on Ebay in packs of 10 for $20, if you buy one and tell me what size tap you need I can borrow it from my friend that owns a machine shop along with the proper size drill bit...A bolt and nut to install the insert is easy, I have those, or can find one

Doh. It never occurred to me to check ebay. Such a noob lol. Thanks Guys.

I'll probably just buy the kit. Thanks for the offer JohnnyP636.

Can even go direct to the sellers website. They have +30,000 positive feedback on ebay, so you should be good.
I believe they even sell the inserts seperately if you don't want to buy the 10 packs.

Timesert is distributed by Wurth in Canada.
No, they're not cheap but they're at Tomkin and Brittania.

KBC sells an equivalent.

I am headed to my shipping warehouse in Niagara Falls in two weeks. If you want you could ship the US kit there and I will bring it to you.

KBC only lists the size he needs from heli coil so same problem. Either buy a whole kit or not have the required drill, tap, and insert tool

I spent about a minute and and a half with Google, Google is your friend, to find that TimeSert taps are STI taps.

I have the KBC catalogue, and there is no Timesert's in it...They sell Heli coil, Coil-sert, and E-Z LOK......The only one on page 123 that has a M12x1.5 listed is Heli coil....Coil-sert and E-Z LOK only list a M12x1.75 coarse thread....Heli-coils M12x1.5 kit is listed at $124.25!, although an individual insert is only $1.88, KBC has a minimum purchase policy of $20....And again he would have to buy the insert to find out the proper tap size as they also do no list it, unless he could find that info elsewhere....

Time-sert does not list the tap size required for their inserts, and I have not found a chart listing it either...Thats why I suggested the OP get the inserts, then use them to find out what size tap he actually needs...Then he can borrow one or buy a tap...STI taps are easy to come by, but what size is required for his insert?

Or even just go to a machine shop and ask if they have the inserts he needs, and pay a reasonable fee to have them install it....
