If I was still in the market for a mid weight this would be high on the list as a fun solo tourer.
Excellent bang for the buck. Staying away from the learner category it's a sweet step up from the CB500x which it resembles.
Some thrill in the throttle with 80 hp and some nice features without going overboard on the electronics
That it will sell in Canada at $10k vs the CB500x at $8k ...money well spent I think,

Its a pretty nice bike, if I were in the market for a middleweight adventure-ish bike, would buy this over the strom or the versys.

aprilia is also releasing the taureg, its more offroad biased and costs 3 grand more, but also comes with cruise control etc

I think this a mid weight ST, competes with the SV650, Tracer, and Versys.

Triumphs triple doesn’t make a lot of low rpm torque, the twins are pumping high 30s at 1800 rpm, Triumph doesn’t turn on till double that. Not a killer, but not setup for pounding trails either.

Triumph has plans for an ADV, for now this looks like an ST only.

That engine is different. Redline around 10k, torque line pretty flat through most of the range. At least if its the same as the trident. But i'll agree, not necessarily for trails...more like fire routes lol

If they'd done cruise instead of traction, I'd like it more.

That graph supports what mike said. F all at 1800, full steam around 3600.

typical triumph, cheaping out on customers, same as tiger 850

Thankfully the taureg has cruise

Aprila, cheaping out on dealerships.
Nearest is downtown Montreal, or 400+km to Vos on Keele Street in Toronto, if I can't speak French.

So the more I watch videos about it.. They call it adventure but really, like Mike was saying it's a sport touring bike. It's less adventure than the cb500x which is not very adventure in the first place.
It positions itself perfectly for the 2nd bike (up from the 250-400 class) or the "im not getting something under 600cc" beginner. It's one of the cheaper triumphs I guess so another gateway into the brand possibly.

That looks like a baby version of the Tiger 1050 I had. Cast wheels and all. Definitely happier on tarmac but did Ok on mild stuff.

I hear honda has dealers in the sticks

That was a pretty funky-looking bike. Wife was cross-shopping that one amongst other sport-tourers. She ended up with an even funkier-looking bike: the R1200ST...

Why is cruise control so rare on motrocycles? Is it really that expensive for manufacturers to add?

This bike looks sweet but for a sport tourer, I'd 100% want cruise control.

They already have electric throttle and speedometer and wheel speed sensors for backup input/spin control. They need to add buttons and a few lines of code for most bikes.

its not so rare any more, especially not on premium euro bikes meant to cover long distances and munch highway miles,
heck even japanese bikes have it now(mt09SP, mt10)

This is just triumph being a dick-tease, they want you to buy the up-spec model.
They thought it made sense to have a quickshifter and heated grips as an accessory, but conveniently forgot to put cruise control on?
Yeah ok lol.

Its 100% been a game changer for me, supernaked?
Nah fam, thats a supernaked iron butt tourer

What's a Turismo Veloce 800 Lusso worth?

Supposedly it's the feedback they got from the focus groups.

I'm guessing it would bring the price above what people were willing to pay for an entry-level (to the triumph brand) bike.

they could have just made it an accessory unlock, keep the initial price tag low, let people choose what they want and still make a profit after the sale (like with heated grips, or quickshifter(why you would want that on a touring bike is beyond me))
but no, why make a competent all rounder for 10k when you can sell a tiger 900 Gt pro for 19 😒

they did the same with the higher priced 850 sport

Not everyone will tour a 660 - it's a real good solo tourer and fun bike and priced well

It competes with the MT-7 which is a twin and somewhat less horsepower but no ride electronics
