I've been looking at tail packs for my bike for a while and had pretty much decided that Kriega was the solution except that I couldn't be sure as no one had them locally. However, in the thread I started here about the bags I heard that Oakville Yamaha had them in stock... I've never heard of Oakville Yamaha.
I decided to ride out to check them out, but while pre-flighting the bike I noticed that the rear tire that I thought had a wee bit of life left in it, didn't. I rode to the shop anyway, having decided this would be the last ride on those tires.
Once at the shop (615 Third Line in Oakville, www.oakvilleyamaha.com) I found a super clean, well organized shop that had a lot of quality products in stock at what appeared to be very good prices. I met the owner, Elio, a very friendly guy who spent a bunch of time with me regarding the bags... but now my priority was tires. I decided to see what they could do the tires for but they didn't have the tires I had decided on in stock The parts guy, Carm, proved himself to be another solid customer service guy and was able to get pretty close to the delivered price from an online retailer for set that I was happy with (Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa). But I had planned on saving the install costs by installing the tires myself so I had hit a speed bump.
In the end, after the use of their computer to read some reviews and verify my knowledge of the tires I was now looking at, some refreshments and a lot of top notch customer service, Elio worked me a deal that saw me ride away on new rubber, installed, with a tail bag system strapped to the bike, all in, for just under what I could have had both items delivered for and then install the tires myself!
A big thumbs up to Elio, Carm and the tire guy (who's name I didn't get) for great pricing, quality stock and above all, fantastic customer service. I WILL be back.
