Thug Life

they made an example outta him, no ones gonna try that anymore so no more noise complaints
send that officer to a few smaller bike meets, tards on their new Ducatis rev bombing in the parking lots. Just move the 30ft to the ******* street and do it some place you don't ruin it for everyone else.

Idiots.

lot of folks dont realize "mischief" charge isnt a traffic charge, its a criminal offence. a LOT of jobs dont hire anybody with a criminal conviction, and it doesnt matter why. It can affect international travel.
Kids a dunce, but that a given...

I'd be the first in line to take a sawzall to his exhaust system, but a criminal charge for this is unjustified. daught is right, the cops should be allowed to walk up and hand out a solid five finger pimp slap to the kid each and every time he drives the car in that 'condition'. Wouldn't take many punishments until he clued into removing the exhaust. Do it to everyone with an aftermarket exhaust.

The conundrum:

If you are training a horse or dog the punishment / reward for behavior has to be in a very short time or the animal fails to relate the action to the punishment or reward. Rewarding or punishing a dog the day after it did something just confuses it.

The above also works with people but people are better able to communicate so an explanation for the punishment / reward can justify a late hit.

The problem with instant punishment is that immediately after we are offended we are highly susceptible to over reaction, wanting brutal punishment beyond reason when looked at down the road.

The downside of the deferral is that while waiting for the punishment the perpetrator has time to justify their actions and minimize the damage in their minds.

If you want to get all serious and psychological: Pavlov trained dogs to drool just by ringing a bell because they knew that food was coming their way shortly. If you train the driver to know that a pimp slap is coming every time they start their car with that muffler, then unless they are dumber than dogs, will learn and remove the non-muffler. And the slaps would be instantaneous to eliminate any confusion.

This should be a by-law infraction. Just like your neighbor cranking up the music or the construction crew 6:00 in the morning.
Laying a criminal charge, negatively affecting this young guys life, is just not right.

He's no thug, I seen those guys on Indianan Jones Temple of Doom. Just another spoiled brat out to destroy his mommy or daddy's expensive sports car. When an engine backfires like that it slams the snot out of your valve and valve seats. When you see somebody intentionally doing that everybody should point and laugh.

A buddy was a service manager at a dealership and had to face a couple who were complaining about the rough ride on their new car. After a bit of a look and test ride buddy informs them their kid has been smoking the tires doing donuts.

Not quite the same but a cop slaps a woman that IMO deserved it.

The story as I understand is she missed her flight and was told she couldn't get out until the next day. She became abusive and threatening and police were called. She pushed the issue with the cop and provoked an incident getting punched in the head. Cop with 31 years service is suspended.

Some people do very well by provoking others. Provoking is legal but physical retaliation is not. I'm pretty sure she will come out of this with a decent settlement. Learn to recognize provocation and how to handle it.

She deserved it and one from the left hand as well. Then kick her out of the airport and everyone is on their way. Instead a guy is going to lose his job and she ended up getting arrested. I fail to see how that's of any benefit to anyone.

He will be the loser but hopefully get reinstated after some attitude management courses.

She will profit from this. I 'm pretty sure she has been contacted by numerous contingency "Rights" lawyers to get her a couple of million. The suit will include everyone in the building, all because she missed her flight.

If she was late it was her fault but if the flight was overbooked the airline would definitely get tied in.

??

what is wrong with you guys?
sure she was being a twat screaming in his face like that
but a cop's job is to de-escalate, not slap her in the head

you ever have your wife screaming at you like that?
I bet we all have
so you just slap her down?

In some cases deescalation doesn't work because the other party actually wants a fight. In a vicious verbal marital battle if the wife can get hubby to slap her, she wins. As long as he remains non violent the battle drags out forever. One slap and he has to move out and gets a record which will go against him in any future proceedings. In such a case the other party will fight deescalation.

Whether it is the cop situation or the family feud NEVER get trapped into making the first hit.

The knee jerk slap made things worse even if it seemed poetic justice. In the long term she needed to be charged with disturbing the peace and appropriately removed to detention where she would be tried at her expense. She would learn that it doesn't pay.

Instead she will make money out of this at society's expense.

I agree with this article. I love motorcycles and I love riding motorcycles and I hope to continue to do so as long as I am able to. I even like the sound of a loud motorcycle - sometimes!
There’s too many inconsiderate show offs out there. The fact is; it’s pissing people off. Especially downtown where there’s been an increase in condo dwellers. I’ve gotten comments from non-riding friends who live downtown about how much the loud bikes (and sometimes cars; but mostly bikes, they all know the difference) annoy them.
My brother lives in the Beaver Valley; quite idyllic and peaceful except when interrupted by - what else? Loud motorcycles, cruising the backroads
I put the stock pipes back on my Harley after one season. It still sounds good and my riding friends thanked me. I’m not changing the exhaust on my XSR700 even though it sounds like a kitchen appliance. Fine by me. I don’t need to be noticed. I just want to ride.

For those riders that really want to hear their bike while also respecting the rest of the world, it shouldn't be that hard to adapt a system like soundaktor to an earpiece or domio. That way you get to hear the thunder/scream and the rest of the world can continue without pointing and swearing about your small pee pee.

It's all about efficiency. Why waste the time of cops, prosecutors, defence lawyers, judges, prison guards, etc when a solid slap could bring about the same result? If she did this a few times and was slapped each time then she'd soon be a bit more fastidious about being on time for something as important as a flight. Too many resources wasted for a glorified school yard fight.
And there's a lot of cry baby husbands that deserve one upside the head too, no need to be sexist ;)
