Help: Throttle Valve Sync

newbie question, how would I know whether a Throttle Valve Sync should be done? According to manual it's 12k or 24 months, followed by 24k or 48 months.
My question is, would it be out of sync if bike has less than 12k but it's been over 3 years?
Lastly, any good shops around GTA for doing a sync?

Thanks.

Re: Help: Throttle Valve Sync

Unless there is a reason to change it, throttle synchronization on a fuel-injected bike is very likely better left alone. It is not like the old days of carbs, where you had four fuel jets that could accumulate gum/dirt at differing rates, and the old days of valve seat materials that wore at differing rates (nowadays - almost insignificant wear at all). If the idling is smooth and there are no other symptoms such as hard starting, there is not likely to be anything gained by doing this.

idling is rough when started cold...but once it's warmed up it seems ok.
