Our good friend Kam is leaving Canada for a time and taking a job in Houston as a NASA mission controller! Yaaah Kam the ram!!!!!

Wow awesome!!!! Do we get free tickets to a shuttle launch?

fyi, the shuttle programme has been shelved for awhile--budget cuts, eh?

Snif :( Thanks ruin my day

Joking :) now that you mention it, it rings a bell.

Regardless congrats on the kick *** job!!! NASA.... you'll never have trouble picking up a chic ever again.

Way to go Kam.... I know I've got a few pics around from back in the day.... ;)

Hey, cool, my account is still here! I'm glad WobblyCat pointed me back here. I had not had a chance to pop by in a while. Thanks for the positive support! It is a big step up from the flight engineering support I was doing at CSA in Montreal but I needed a new challenge.

Riding in Houston heat will be a challenge, too! :-) At least the winters are mild now ;-) Oh, and I am taking both the RC51 and the SV racer...need to check out a track called MSR Houston. Very sweet layout.

Anyway, I am in the middle of my drive from Montreal to Houston; currently posting from a hotel in Albany, NY.

Cheers!

Kam

Cool congrats.

Do you have any insight you can share on when will the new program start, I have read that the goal is to go to Mars?

Still on my drive to Houston. Stopped in New Orleans for a break. Tomorrow I arrive in Houston.

Regarding the future: that's a question many of us in the different programs ask as well. Space is not as "sexy" as it was and political parties tend to do things to keep them in power. There are a number of lobby groups trying to gather the limited funds so that by itself can get in the way of progress.

Canada will continue its ISS robotics support for the next 10 years or so until the station is de-orbited. There are other groups at the Canadian Space Agency and the company I used to work for (MDA Space Missions) pursuing future development projects but these are primarily small budget trials. As the old expression goes "No bucks, no Buck Rogers".

I hope we get some more defined direction in these next 5 years. We need some focus.

And, thank you for the support from the folks that don't know me. I appreciate it.
