Happened on the way home from work...I was driving up Woodbine just past Queen when a taxi coming the opposite direction pulled a U-turn right in front of me IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET - not even going through an intersection. I managed to avoid hitting the car dead-on, but still ended up clipping the front bumper/grill pretty hard with my front-left fork & foot.

Luckily, the bike stayed up & I pulled over to go see what he was thinking. He actually had the nerve to admit that he did see me & even asked ME if I saw HIM.

The bike seems to be ok other than the new Beck-orange paint job on the fork. My foot hurts quite a bit on the outside edge though, but doesn't look too swollen or bruised so I'm hoping it'll be fine in a few days.
 
Glad to hear it didn't turn out any worst. So did you call the insurance or whats happening?
 
taxi's, yeah, they are a scurge, and in downtown traffic, they don't give a rats arse about you...glad to hear you are ok...
 
Glad to hear you're ok mostly. Get your ankle checked anyways, that's what ohip's for...and if you have the cabby's info and a witness just go through insurance in case there's further damage to your body which will require physio.

I'll second what sushi said: not a bad idea to get your ankle checked out. It always helps to have these things documented (by a doc, naturally) in case something comes up in the future.

Your quoting the wrong person :p. But yeah, since its clearly not your fault, just call up your insurance company and file it (assuming you got his information after the incident). You have a couple years after the accident to file for injuries.

Correct, you usually have up to 3 years to file an AB claim, you have up to a Year to put through a collision claim...i believe, but hopefully you made it to a collision centre within 24 hours of the accident to report. If cops showed. you don't need to go to the centre, they'll have given you a copy of the report which you can provide to your ins. company anytime up to a year after the accident.

What's wrong with having two sushii girls?

You should have called the cops, had the cabbie charged especially if he admitted he saw you!, and then gone through insurance.
 
Ok, I filed it with insurance so they've got a record just in case I need them later on. 2 guys at the scene came up & offered to be witnesses if necessary which was really cool of them so I don't think I'll have any problems with insurance...

The foot didn't really get any better overnight so I'm going to go see the doc today to make sure there's nothing serious.

I'm fairly sure there were a few posts BY Sushii, stating he was a boy...If I'm wrong..my apologies for calling him/her a hermaphrodite.

Hope you feel better...so what happened? Popo get involved? Anything get physical aka you knocking out the taxi cab driver and etc?
 
what time u guys hitting up KC? i gotta pack it in by 9:30pm due to m1 restriction :( next week though by tuesday i'll be free of that restriction!
