Though about bike stand vs bike jack

if you have pipes under it will not work very well unless you put in blocks of wood or something so you don't crush them....even worsse if you have a plastic belly that will get in the way...

Ahh you're right. Hmm, i'll look into it. I don't have a belly pan so its just the pipes i need to work around

OP, what bike do you have? I have that jack, it works great on my Sportster and I have had a few other makes and models of cruisers up on it.

FYI, that's my old CBR125R and stands in that pic. I had just bought it, circa June 2007...

If you are a real grease monkey get both of them, it will surely be very useful. But if you are a regular diy rider get the bike stand instead.

Stands suck, it's a lot easier working on a bike that's elevated a foot or two, and suspension work is a breeze. But, your exhaust might be an issue for the jack unless you can fabricate a workaround or you're willing to remove it every time you want to put it up.
