This worth for insurance claim?

What do you guys think...left my car at a parking lot this morning. Came back and it was damaged.

Rear camera caught the hit, and could see the lower A pillar of a white car visible. They pulled in, hit my car, and then backed out. Unfortunately the camera only keeps 10s prior to and after a hit. So I don't see much else.

Walked around and found a white car with what looks like the damage that matches my car...but can't be 100% sure. No big gouges or anything, but some of the paint is gone.

It can be clearly proven to be 100% not my fault...but I'm not sure if insurance would ding me for a claim.

This is the car that I THINK hit my car. Can't be 100% sure.

Looking at it I think 85% of that will buff out. The marks on the edge look like they have some depth, but everything else should come out.

Personally given its a Chevy Volt I'd just hit it with a polisher and some touch up paint and leave it. It's a lot of hassle to get things fixed through insurance.

Ya I think I’ll leave it be. Not worth the deductible and it’s a Volt…not a Bolt.

Guess I need to learn to buff out scratches now too lol.

try and back up to the car and see if any scrape lines match up with bodywork of toyota bumper. If so, might be worth bluffing to them you have the whole thing on camera and squeeze a few hundred bucks out of them. If they decline mention a hit and run will cost them more in the long run :)

Happened in the morning. I’m home and I doubt I’ll find that car again.

But good call on that.

I’ll try and buff it out or find someone to do it.
