This something William Shatner could do on weird or what? (well not really)

Did anyone ever use one of those devices that help activate the dreaded red lights to change green once of course you stop on one of those, I guess magnetic pick up buried road sensors. They don't cost much but I can't believe they work.
I am now becoming the "U"-turn King because of prolonged lights and when there is absolutely NO traffic, what the He dbl. hockey sticks I just go for it, I feel like an idiot being there forever. Hopefully good news will come.

Some lights use weight triggered sensors rather than magnetic pick-ups. You can't do anything about those ones. I just make a right turn, find my way around and avoid the intersection from that point on.

I drag the center stand along the loop and it normally works. To fix the problem, just call the city and they will recalibrate the loop so bikes trigger it.

You can also ride along the crosswalk at major intersections to avoid camera if you don't want to do all those turns ;)

I guess, so far no one has used one have they? There must be one rich basted out there, get one and try it and we will all be nice and hear for your verdict. But I don't think that's going to happen. I'll just wait for the slight chance of a trigger for green lights owner to appear.
And they will appear like God appeared to Mosses, ya know the smoke and halo and lights and angels singing, the whole 9 yards.

You mean one of those magnets that picks up all the metal crap off of the road and permanently attaches it to your bike unless you are Sampson, but doesn't trigger the lights?

They trigger lights like a champ! After sticking those to my headers I've never failed to trigger a light again!

Thank you very much for keeping the motorcycle tracks clear of iron crap. If anyone else wants to help out, I won't discourage it any further. Please wear protective gloves while trying to remove said crap from the magnets, and keep your tetanus shots up to date.

All traffic lights use "loops", basically it is a giant metal detector like you see people using at the beach. They cut a slot in the asphalt(generally in a rectanglular shape) and lay a wire in this slot, usually a few turns, the slot then gets sealed and the ends of the wire are connected to a detector box which is able to detect when metal passes over the loop. Some are just more or less sensitive then others, this depends on the physical dimensions of the loop, how many turns of wire are used and even the settings in the electronics can be adjusted.

Emergency vehicles are able to trigger some lights with a strobe light as well.

Adding extra parts to your bike shouldn't be needed just pull up to the right spot at the intersection. You can see the cut in the pavement, riding over the cut spot and stopping near the front of the box over the cut should be sufficient. I haven't had issues at most intersections.

In college we used to take advantage of the fact the parking gates were triggered by a magnetic loop. You could pull up to the exit of the gated parking lot, toss a piece of steel about 6"x12" across the gate and as long as it lands in the right spot, basically close to the edge of the magnetic loop, the exit gate would open, we'd pull in the exit, and pick up our piece of steel on the way through.
