They have to obey road rules

From the PRP twitter account ..............
Both bicycles and e-bikes are classified as “vehicles” and cyclists and individuals operating e-bikes are classified as “drivers”. To ensure the safety of everyone on the road all drivers must follow the rules of the road.

.....Have you seen cyclists and e-bikers adhering to road rules?
......Do you think that as "drivers", cyclists and e-bikers should have insurance policies?

Just asking!

Yes they are obligated to follow the rules, in reality they tend follow whatever suits them at the time "conservation of motion bruh".

All vehicles on the road should be required to carry insurance.

Hahahhaha..

Hahaha hahahaha. Hahaha.

Yeah.

In a perfect world.

We all know reality is that half the people on these eBikes couldn't give two craps about the rules of the road, and that a percentage of them are only riding them to begin with because they lost their actual licence.

Screw that....I ride my surron LBX in the forest and everyone thinks it’s a mountain bike. I don’t like rules

I'm on the fence regarding enforcement for bicycles.
Not sure I can trust the cops to distinguish between teens and adults - potentially leading to a new wave of enforcement upon the innocent..
I mean...its bad enough kids these days don't get the kind of childhood we had growing up, no?

They are awesome. I love my Honda CRF250R but this thing is fast and fun, quiet and you can take it many places you can’t dirt bike. I even built a track at my house to rip around on because it’s almost silent . I love it

Awesome I have a little track at home too and the KTM 300 gets a bit crazy doing laps around the house.

I didn't know what the hell you guys were talking about until I checked SURRON...wow. Looks pretty awesome. Down the rabbit hole I go.
It’s awesome

It would be helpful if more people started using the right wording. When you get a DUI conviction you are suspended from operating any motorized vehicle. No car, powerboat, sailboat, e-bike etc. There is a difference between losing a license and being suspended that people don't understand.

You and ScubaSteve would really like the new improved lineup at EM.

Unfortunately that isn't being enforced. Cops have better things to do I guess.

Exactly. And I don’t think 90% of the people riding these because of DUI’s care, nor likely even know they’re not supposed to be riding them.

And yeah, ZERO enforcement.

Cops know they're loser tickets that will never be enforced by the courts (like writing tickets to homeless people). Unless the whole system is working together, having only one part try is just lighting money on fire with no effect. Even if the court decided to uphold a ticket, what mechanism do they have for collection? They don't renew a DL so you can't use that. I don't think they can garnish wages for this. They're sure as hell not putting you in jail for an ebike ticket. The simple answer is cops keep the bike if they catch you on it if you have an outstanding conviction. That would probably be reasonable for suspended license on an ebike too.

Same here. I had no idea. Looks awesome.
Honestly if the 500X doesn’t turn my crank this season. I’m going electric dirt bike. I’d sell it now and see but they’re all sold out. Pricing is similar and at such a light weight I could just get one of those carriers for the van instead of a trailer.
