The genius of carlin

Carlin has a lot of good material. I’m not sure HE predicted this, more so that if you spend enough time here and take in some details of the world you can see the obvious.

I’m sure some will have a different viewpoint though

I really miss guys like Carlin, Kinison, even Rodney Dangerfield. I don't think they would have got anywhere in the current political climate today. Stand-up is basically dead

I'll be dipping my toes into comedy, soon as covid is under control and I get vaccinated but there's levels to this,

A comedians primary preoccupation is with getting laughs/humor,
if those guys werent legends with decades of humor and their reputations they wouldnt be able to do that sort of stuff
when guys get to a certain level, they can choose to go that route, where they go from being comedians to social commentators/prophets.

They can be serious and nonfunny and people still buy tickets and still show up

but if anyone else tries that, it wont work, because they havent achieved god status yet

There are some comedians who are doing this presently(Chapelle lately) but again, hes in the top 1% of his field

If valentino rossi started a cooking show, most riders would still go see it, even though it wouldnt involve racing a motorcycle

I have always been entertained by some of Chris Rock's sketches.

The late George Carlin is definitely not verbally safe for work but he nails it. I would love him or his clone to go into a political debate with ANY of our so called "Leaders". He'd mop the floor with them and then drown them in the bucket.

I feel like the closest thing to a present day carlin is Louis CK, hes been awol for a few years but came out with a new special recently

Just watched chris rocks' latest special, that **** hit wayyy too close to home
