The CMA and the MCC

"A memorandum of understanding is an agreement between two or more parties outlined in a formal document. It is not legally binding but signals the willingness of the parties to move forward with a contract."
Okay....

That they're talking to each other is a promising start, because that was not happening before.

Will CSBK,RACE and SOAR want anything to do with CMA now?

I hope this ends up as a MCC - CMA merger. MCC continues operations (CMA hasn't been doing anything discernible anyhow), acquires CMA's FIM relationship.
Our Canadian riders could gain international recognition, and maybe international riders would be interested in Canadian events.
A lot depends on what's in it for our present race organizers.

... except there is no money in Canadian motorcycle racing.
Other than Hindle and a couple of insurance companies, any monies in Canadian motorcycle racing comes from the US.
Why spend a nickle on a Mosport event, when you can get triple the exposure at any US event, for less money, if you're an American entity.
... BUT now we can field a TEAM CANADA to events like Philip Island, if the CMA wants to play ball, so we don't have to send our star racers and equipment to race under the US flag.

Byron (CMR) and I were talking about this the other day... no big bikes, 500cc or less (easier to be a big frog in a small pond than a small frog in a big pond... and we already HAVE a bunch of 250/350s ready to go), we've talked to a couple of riders....
It'll only cost about $200,000-250,000 CDN. Anyone want in? Got any money?

Nobody cares that Szoke is a multiple time Canadian champ, but he was an American hero in Team USA at Philip Island.
Blair Sharpless and Jon Sebastian Roi ran the Daytona beach race in '89. Sharpless finished 3rd. The announcer on TV wouldn't say his name on the air. He was the Canadian on the Suzuki (Suzuki was a major sponsor).
