The BEST Tattoo Shop in the City?

Looking to get some art work done in the near future, two small pieces and maybe a half sleeve if they can compile the pictures I have in a way I like. I'm looking for a more traditional style, nothing fancy or "new school"... Prefer black/gray with a little colour.

Budget is not much of an issue, Any recommendations?

Not sure of your city of choice. I'm in Hamilton and always use sink n ink. Jeff is the owner who I use. I'm pretty covered up. Great work and being Doing it for years.

Sorry, I meant Toronto. Looking for a shop that has been established for a while and some skill/experience to go along with that.

Getting recommendations without samples of the work is pretty much useless. For some reason people seem to think their own tattoos look great even when they suck, so will recommend the person that did it.

Not bagging anyone in here just suggesting posting a pic of their tat if they recommend someone.

This question comes up every now and then on the forum.

Here's a few places to start:

Look for the shops that get repeated in the threads. Start there. Good luck.

Plus one. !
I chimed in because of the "black and grey" majority of mine are.
Also even with the portfolio, I'd find someone who has been and look at their work on teir body, find out the duration it took.
I know you said money isn't the issue, but i has had some great work done that someone could have done equally as good in less time. At a 100 an hour it adds up!

Don't pick the shop, pick the artist. Location doesn't mean ****.

+1

Find a shops web page and have a look at the artists portfolio. Alternately go to the shops and look at their portfolio's.

+1 on professors tats, from what I saw it was quality work. I'm booked with bks at chronic ink for a full sleeve in march. From what I could see though Tristan is the go to guy for black and grey. Problem is he's 250 an hour and has over a two year waiting list.

Tristan was my guy and love his work. But depend on what style OP is going for, there are other options. btw the cost did add up quickly.

All my work was done by Rob Coutts. I was lucky and honored he agreed to do my ink. He's now off the grid, however, back in the day, david glantz, now the owner and an artist at archivetattoo.com, used to work outta Rob's studio. Dave would be the inly other artist I'd let come near my canvas.
Good luck.

Just tattoos are so "yesterday"

Thanks, I'll check him out.
