who all likes AC DC ?

Who thinks Bon Scott was better than Brian Johnson ?

I prefer the Bon Scott era.

I'd like to see if theres a Bon Scott tribute act that does Brian Johnson Songs..

Ive heard Brain Johnson doing Bon's songs, and it sucks.

A great explanation of AC/DC:

+1 Bon Scott. I think AC/DC is the only band you could be a member of for 30 years and still be "that new guy".

I do like Brian Johnson too though.

Meme!

I love the old stuff and the new. I was born in 73 so Bon has always been "retro" in my mind. It's the same with every lead, once they are gone the whole sound changes.

All time loudest concert ever, and going to see concerts is one of my fave things. Ear splitting.

My first choice of music for riding.I like'm both and if I crank it up loud enough it scares the deer back into the bush.

My vote is for Brian. But I was born in '74. Back in Black, Who Made Who, Razors Edge. Good stuff.
And yes, the loudest concert ever. I thought my head was going to split.

AC/DC was the very first band I was big into, so this runs pretty deep for me.

I was born in '79 and I'd still choose Bon by a mile.

Bon had personality: he had an incredibly distinctive voice, he had greater range, he could crack jokes, his lyrics were more interesting (don't forget the old lyrics were mostly all Bon's writing), he had a way better stage presence, he could scream well (an extremely underrated rock skill) and he just seemed to be having way WAY more fun. They even admit it plainly: Nowadays, they all live separately. They only get together for a new album or tour and it's all business. Angus can still cut a mean lick, but the life's been sucked right out of the songs.

Brian's a good singer, and came recommended by Bon even (when he was still alive), but over the years I care less and less for any of their stuff after Highway to Hell. It's not bad at all, but it's just not the same.

I'm a huge fan....actually saw Bon and AC DC for the first time at Massey Hall in 79...they were... get this...the back up Band for UFO. What awesome experience...we stayed for like one UFO song and left. But AC DC did have a encore. Love Bon and he is the best. But love ...Thunderstruck a whole lot.
Bon did have the best lyrics .... and amazing showman too.

Here's a crappy video...

i look at the pre/post-bon eras as if they are 2 different bands. i like them both for different reasons.

Loudest concert I ever saw was the My Bloody Valentine reunion show in '08. 132dB at the sound board. Next loudest was Frank Black and the Catholics. AC/DC was still pretty loud.

I probably prefer the Bon Scott era, but both are great. You can't knock Back in Black at all.

I saw them a few years ago at the ACC. They were great for their age, but I was with an older friend who saw'em on the Razor's Edge tour and heard they went even harder back then. They're good showmen for sure.

My fave track:

Kings of three chord rock.

On a sorta related AC/DC vein... Anyone know of a guitar pedal power supply that will give both 9VAC and 9VDC? I'm putting together a pedal board, but some of my stuff requires 9VAC...

Have you checked canadarobotix.com?

No, but I will, thanks!

And to keep the thread true, I think the Scott era was better tunes, but the current band has made a bigger dent in the industry, allowing fans to hear both old and new AC/DC.
