I got a phone call from a guy in Georgia this morning asking me if I was in a position to help a couple from Arkansas who were in Burlington and having final drive problems with their Goldwing. I'm kind of useless mechanically but went out anyway to give them moral support and transportation if needed.
By the time I got there Andrew, a Ducati rider (I appologise for forgetting his last name) had picked up on a conversation at the parts counter of Burlington Honda and had generously stepped in to assist. I got involved by a request but Andrew proved that the camaraderie was alive by sensing a problem and doing something about it. Two thumbs up.
By dumb luck it turned out that an auto mechanic I knew had a final drive sitting in his shop and keeping it short, the bike was cautiously ridden to Brampton, fixed and the couple back on the road.
So Andrew if you see this please PM me when you get the parts and I'll pick them up to see if the old final drive can be rebuilt.
