Thai or Italian Restaurant Suggestions in West Toronto towards Milton...

Hi,

As the title suggests It am looking for restaurant suggestions. My wife and I will be in the GTA tomorrow. Drop off her suitcase at the Hays location for repair. Then go and hit the Foamite location to check out the beds. Some more running around and then pick up her (hopefully repaired) Hays suitcase. Mayne we will end up towards Oakville so we could check out the Indian Scout at the dealership there.

So... recommendations could be anywhere in the western part of the GTA. I know about the Thai place in Cambellville as that is on our Thai restaurant rotation.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions and/or recommendations.
 
I know this is not an answer you are looking for, but I've gotten into the habit of using Trip Advisor's phone app, and it ranks the restaurants in a particular city. You can filter your findings for something you are looking for.

Admittedly, where it gets difficult is when you are looking at a place to eat across multiple cities.

I really like the Thai place beside the old cycle world west location.
 
Thai in port credit that actually tastes like thai food, (close to what Pai or Khao San road in downtown core offer) Signature Thai.

Real close to Hurontario/Lakeshore, so you can enjoy a walk by the lake after dinner, or go have drinks afterwards in the area west of that.

Italian wise, also close to port credit is Thyme (they also do thai apparently?!?! but never tasted it...their Italian food is on point though)

Casa Americo, dont bother, its italian, mediocre

I was going to contribute, but my version of where West Toronto is, is very different from yours.

Ha ha... We ended up here before the negative opinion was put up:



The place in Brampton sounded amazing but Milton was more on the way home so this choice was partly based on geography and timing. We actually set out to go to the place across the street but we just wanted some simple pasta; no crazy oysters or anything else over the top. Also, we were dressed pretty casually and this place fit the bill.

They had a mushroom and truffle soup for a special app so we snagged two of those. Soup was amazing but the brushetta while tasty should have had a bit less cheese.



As I mentioned though the soup was awesome!



The pasta was so good I dove into it and forgot to take some more pictures! My wife had a nice Penne Ala Vodka and I had a Penne Chicken Supreme which was quite good.

The online reviews were generally positive and we had a good meal. It is also nice that they have several wines that are sold by the glass, by the half litre, and by the bottle. Nice that you can get something other than the house wine in a half litre.

We will have to make another GTA outing so we can try some of the other places you guys recommended. Again thanks! :)
 
I had many very good meals there, then a couple 'meh' meals and scratched them off my list. I've known the partners in this place for decades from other places they have had. What finally put me off was a capellini that was cooked in a ball of noodles , when I mentioned this wasn't really working out for me they told me it was "hard to cook".
There is nothing in Italian cuisine that is hard to cook, and I hang out with trained Italian chefs, they cook in my kitchen on occasion.

I'm a pretty tough judge and fairly fickle and I readily admit it, you've convinced me I should give them another try.
