I passed a guy on a cruiser texting...is this common?? I was really surprised to see it but then I have a few friends that ride who manage to text me somehow even when I know they are out on their bikes, I guess when they are stopped somewhere?? Just curious...

More common in some particular parts of the worlds

common? no. Have I seen it? a few times, but only before the no handheld device law.

I don't do it but have seen them doing it while at red lights

Sent from phone

i've done it at a light..

At a light, I'll text short msgs like "ok" or "on my way". I hate it when people continue to text after the light turns green though. I tried texting while riding once just to see how doable it is and I've decided it's not. Not safely anyway.

Google voice actions work great for me. text, email, call, whatever. All hands free.

Can't say I've seen that behavior in the wild. I only see cagers doing it. My phone stays in my pocket when I ride, but then again I'm not important enough...

ok, i admit it, ive done it. but only as a joke to freak some people out who were driving beside me.

maybe it was me you saw, red.

I've done it... in Bali on a scooter without a clutch (or semi-automatic... whatever they call it) so I could still stop one-handed if I needed to. I don't think I would do it again, especially not on a bike with a clutch.

Maybe, it was near brant street in Burlington. I think it was a harley, had monkey bars.
