Televised Bike Racing...Europe..

It was awhile back. We were visiting some friends whose son was fascinated by Nascar. When it was over, we were about to turn off the tv when this european motorcycle racing coverage came on.(mid to late summer we think)

We have never seen anything like it: high speed motorcycle racing at speeds that were simply unbelievable.

Is there a season for this type of racing? Does it exist here in Canada or is it an american/euro phenomenon? (One assumes that if we have the Molson Indy.....)

Just having trouble tracking down more information on this particular sport. Any links to sites, etc would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx in advance

All the motorcycle racing you can watch http://www.gtamotorcycle.com/vbforu...to2-Moto3-WSBK-and-a-little-AMA-in-there-too)

Also In Canada you have the Nation Championship called Csbk (Parts Canada) and there are a few races at Canadian Tire Mosport you can watch live.

More locally a few of us race at SOAR (South Ontario Asociation of Racing), first race weekend is May 25 a the Grand Bend Race track and you can come and watch us.
There is also another Racing association called RACE, they are at Shannonville race track

Sounds liek Irish RoadRacing.....they haven't any tracks so they race on real two lane roads. The lack of runoff and close proximity to hedges, walls, and buildings, as well as the surfaces poor condition and overall hilliness compared to what we typical see as a racetrack, makes the speeds look that much more insane. In reality, many superbikes see 160-200 mph speeds everywhere in the world, regardless of track size or location.
