Taxis and Highway HOV Lanes

the HOV lane is one step closer to being 'yet-another-lane'

i've seen a huge lack of enforcement especially on the 404

Yet bikes that don't cause nearly as much emissions aren't eligible... yet...

I don't find the HOV lanes particularly safe..I see soooo many lock-up tracks in the HOV lane where someone has cut off a vehicle and the vehicle ends up in the median...

Make the case for bikes about safety and NOT fuel consumption.

You can approach it from the angle of safety and the concept of smaller vehicles using less resources, in order to be manufactured. You can save resources in more than one way and by giving people perks for using smaller vehicles, you promote their use.

If safety was a genuine concern you wouldn't be riding a bike at all.

Everyone has a level of risk that they are willing to take. Once the level of acceptable risk has been determined, is their anything wrong with reducing that risk? I think not. But that discussion can be taken elsewhere.

I was going to mention about the bus "knuckles" tire tire track ridges on Don Mills in a new thread.

They are really bad this year, there is one southbound that i hit this morning and i almost got air.

The HOV lane northbound on the 404 doesn't move any faster than any other lanes at peak commuting time, adding empty taxi's and Limo will just add to the snafu.
