Mainly it stops forums from informing you every time you look at them of the existence of the tapatalk plugin.

Also, it cleans up the interface so it's easier to navigate on a phone.

On the tablet it's not as big a deal, but the interface is great on the phones smaller screen (much less wasted space)

Possibly but I don't worry about data. I was in the hospital overnight and had my tablet tethered to my phone and didnt use much data, I won't hit my 6gig limit.
