Taller/narrow tire on a wider rim?

The Yamaha T7 rear wheel is 4.50 x 18 in, and stock tires are 150/70-18

I'm looking at getting the Dunlop Trailmax Mission tires, and ordered a 140/80/18, thinking it's just taller and more narrow, better for dirt, also much cheaper and only size in stock at Petes. However, dunlops site states a 3.5" rear wheel is recommended, is it okay to run the 140 anyway?

Given that it states the 150/70-18 version is acceptable for a 4.50 rim but 4.25 is preferred, I would say probably not. But you already ordered it, so... yolo I guess? Not a tube expert, but given the fact that the T7 wheels run tubes, that may afford you a wider allowable margin

The order hasn't even processed yet or shipped, I just realized after ordering and checking Dunlops site to confirm, so can call in the AM and cancel, just the only place with a 150 in stock, is almost double the price :( Oh, uhm, I should mention I'm doing a tubeless conversion, so no tubes with it
