Taking out the battery, ninja 250

I have a question for ninja 250 experts out there.

I wanted to remove my ninja's battery earlier today so I can attach it to my battery tender for winter but I ran into a problem. My understanding is that you only need to remove the small black fairings before you can take off the front seat is that correct? How do you go about doing that?

I only saw one screw that needs to be removed, which I did, but I still couldn't take off the fairing still and I'm afraid that I'd damage it if I yanked too hard.

And I'm not exactly sure on how to properly remove the battery and attach it to the tender either... so if anyone is willing to shed some light for me in these regards, I'd appreciate it :p

It really sucks that winter is coming :(

Thanks guys

the 1 philip screw on each side, then jus remove the panel. there are still clips holding it, just pull forward slowly. the seat is remove by removing 1 hex bolt on each side. just make sure when taking off the bolt there is a sleeve that comes with it. if i remember correctly there are just 10mm bolts holding the battery and 2 10mms or philips bolt holding each of the terminals. hope this helps

get a phillips screwdriver, remove the screw on the "small black fairings"

give the small black fairings a good tug and out it comes.... as simple as it sounds because it really is. You wont break anything

then use the same phillips scredriver to remove the plastic cover over the battery (its the one in the centre)... then remove the battery.

One thing I usually do is with anything I do on the bike, after pieces are off, wherever possible, put the screws or bolts back in. It serves 2 purposes, 1- you won't lose them, 2- it takes the guesswork out when putting it back together.
