Suzuki RF600R running rich

Good day all,

I have a 1993 Suzuki RF600R with a Hindle slip on exhaust. Bike runs great although it is running way too rich and I would like to get it re-jetted however I haven't had the best luck with service shops lately (more about that in another thread). Can anyone suggest a reputable shop with a dyno that can successfully re jet the bike first without damaging it, second having knowledgeable and experienced hands working on it and third not having the bike for 3-4 weeks to get the job done?

I'm in Burlington and don't mind travelling a reasonable distance to get to a good shop. Any suggestions you can make or experiences that you've had both good and negative are welcome.

Thanks very much.

I could ask why you think it's running rich and all that crap but i'll just answer the question instead.

Z1 cycletech.

Hey Rob,

thanks very much. 17 litre tank gets only 150 km before the fuel light comes on then another 20 km hitting reserve. Took it in for service including a carb sync tech advised it was running rich.

I'll check out Z1 Cycletech. Thanks again.

Cheers

OK, that is pretty high consumption.
What's the condition of the spark plugs? Do the coils deliver a strong blue spark? (dis-connect coil high tension wire, remove spark plug re-connect high tension lead and ground the plug then crank the engine a couple times to see spark.
Also check the air filter to make sure it's clean and flowing properly.
