I owned a 2002 Suzuki LS650. The bike was nice because of its light weight and torque.
My big beef was the gear ratios. First gear was too high making it difficult to drive in stop and go traffic without riding the clutch.
There was almost no noticable difference between 4th and 5th gear so it felt like I was really driving a 4 speed.
With the newer models have they improved upon these two issues or it the same old situation?
If the answer is yes... I may be inclined to buy again.

I don't think they've changed that thing in 2 decades, except for paint.

Well ,they went from 4 speed to 5 speed a while back, but that's it!

Thanks for your input. It's too bad that they wouldn't make some minor improvements to an otherwise good bike.
The other issue of course is the requirement to remove the gas tank to change the spark plug, a regular maintenance item.
Oh well maybe one day they'll see the light.
