Suspension tuning- Shannonville

First off I'm in Kingston...second I'm not into track days or anything but I'm looking for places near me where I can get help with my suspension. The stock suspension on my Tiger is pretty adjustable but I have no clue what I'm doing, plus I don't weight 100lbs so I'd like to get it set up properly, and failing that I'd be willing to swap out rear and front suspension components if what I have won't deal with a 200lb chunky like myself.

On track days does Shannonville have a place where I can get some help? If something needs shop time is there a place anyone knows near me where I can get front fork springs/rear shock put in (reliably).

John Sharrard from Accelerated Technologies is out near you. One of the best in the country.

Thanks, will google!

Edit: Looks like a nice ride out that way too. Bonus.
He lives right near some of the best proving ground to try out your new upgrades once he's done ;)

He just did my forks for me today, from the factory they are set up for a 95lb 5ft tall kid, so he put in better springs, better valves and polished them up and OMG *orgasm*, so silky smooth and nice :)

They are always busy so call ahead before showing up!

How much does something like that cost and does the bike have to be left overnight?

Call John and get his advice.

Tell him what you're riding, the type of riding you do, and perhaps how much you weigh. Then he should be able to make some reccomendations prior to you going in.

Depends what you want done. Can range from a basic $250 service plus parts to a $700-$1,000 full race prep.

If you make arrangements with John he can work on it while you wait. I love doing that because he'll tell you what he's doing as he's doing it, show you what the different adjustments do to the bike/handling, etc. It's a serious course in how a suspension works, not just a fork refresh/upgrade. Bring something to take notes.

Exactly this. E-mail John and let me him what bike you have, how many KM's, what track you ride (or if it's for street), and he'll design up a few packages for ya:

My packages consisted of:

1. Expensive, Ohlins internals, lots of goodies.
2. Less expensive, Elka internals, lots of goodies.
3. Much less expensive, new custom tuned valves, springs for your weight, polish tubes, new seals and wipers if required, etc.

They really hate doing fluid changes if all of your fork internals are bone stock ;)

FYI, John is often (usually?) at Shannonville during racing events. The first one is the weekend of the 18th of May. He might be there on the 4th and 5th too, as there are "free" test days for the RACE series that weekend.

I would call to confirm, he wasn't at any of the 3 I attended.

I asked him which track days he'll be at this year and he said "all the Pro6 ones".

In that case, he will be at Shannonville on the 13th of May (Monday). I'll be there as well.
