Supersport Insurance

Hi guys.
This topic might have come up prior to this but I couldnt find an exact answer to my question so here goes..
Irish guy been in TO for 2 years now, been riding here for one year. Id like to get insurance on a supersport. Im 28 yo. I only have this years riding experience under my belt as Canadian driving experience. Back home I have Irish car driving experience but no bike riding experience. Ive heard that Statefarm are the only company that will insure Supersports and for that you need to have 5 or 6 years driving experience. Do I have any options whatsoever to get insured on a supersport or superbike? Thanks for any help

You can try TD Insurance as well, I'd give Cornerstone or John Duffy a call as well. Good luck.

I suppose it would depend on whether SF will recognize your Irish driving experience? Why don't you try calling them to find out

Thanks. TD quoted me over $4400 for a 2003 GSXr 600. Bike would be worth $4000..... Ill try the others thanks
Unfortunately with your experience that might be the quotes your looking at, Best advice is maybe get a smaller, non-supersport bike and get some experience.

Your only chance is to call State Farm, but they probably won't consider your driving experience in Ireland.

an SV650S may be a great alternative, insurance wise, and still have relatively good performance. Much more exciting than say, an ex500 or a gs500f.

People under estimate or are unaware of the half-decent SS insurance rates with Facilty/Nordic.

Hello All,

Just came across this website and as I went thru your threads realized that its not well known in the biker community that Allstate does motorcycle insurance. I've insured a few members from this group and my rates beat statefarm/jevco and riders plus.
If you're over 30 - sports bike or cruiser - give me a call - 416 579 0080. My rates are usally about 30-40% cheaper than statefarm (based on your record obviously)

Medha.

So I am 30 with a clean record and pay $850/year with SF for a 600SS and your saying you would be around $510-$595/year w/ full coverage?

just for comparison, M, 29, clean record, 2 cars + house + 08 CBR 1kRR, $1050 for liability + comp. Chances are your former exp won't count. Hope you find a good rate. Track only is always an option :)

With StateFarm? Single or married? I really need to get some new quotes.

Me: 28, single, living in Toronto, 2 cars (full coverage on 09 WRX, comprehensive only on 87 944), 09 650R. Clean driving record and no at fault claims.
Paying $379/month + $200/yr renters insurance (separate companies since my company wanted $250 for the renter insurance).
