Supermoto Rear Tires

I purchased some used pirelli dragon super corsa's 160/60-17 rear. Went to put it on to replace my 160/60-17 maxxis tire, and no go. The Pirelli is way wider, laying it down side by side there is 10 mm difference in heights? WTF? Is there any where to get a 150 /60-17 track day/supermoto tire, or does anybody have one that they could measure?I am running a 4.25" rim on a 2003 kx125, the chain rubs big time with the Pirelli but no problems with the maxxis. I want a better tire , the Maxxis tires are really old and super hard!! Any suggestions?

dunno, but when you find something id be interested in your pirelli 160

i had a dunlop 170 on my bike 5 inch rim, tried putting a pirelli 180 on and its a nogo so im thinking about putting my dirt setup on it until i find some rubber, and to try and sell it

Tires are weird. The michelin supermoto 165 is much wider than the dunlop 170.... the michelin "mushrooms" out from the rim where the dunlop is basically straight up from the rim. if i remember correctly the maxxis fits very similar to the dunlops. If you want another maxxis rear tire, D4 Performance in Cambridge has a new one (old date stamp) on the shelf. I'm sure he'd cut you a good deal to get rid of it.

I bought one of the last 2 Dunlop 170 SM slicks Pro6 had in stock, and they told me the tire will no longer be available in North America, so that was the last of them. Either way it was old from 08 and it leaked, so I had to return it today....And I was worried that nothing else would fit, because my bike has very little clearance with a 5" rim. They sold me a KR108 165/55 just so I could get by and ride today....It fit almost exactly the same as the SM 170, with very little sidewall protruding past the lip of my 5" rim....
