Supercorsa SP's in the rain?

Im heading to TMP (prepaid) this saturday and the forecast is calling for 90% probability of precipitation. I currently have supercorsa SP's on my R1 and I cant imagine them as being any good in the rain based on lack of sipes. I also have a set of unmounted Q2's kicking around at home. Would you swap out the tires or leave the SP's on and chance it in the rain/hope for a couple of dry sessions?

DOT Race tires have negative traction in the rain!

I thought the SC was considered the DOT race tire and the SP was considered a regular street tire? In any event, they have the same tread pattern so it sounds like a bad idea and I should swap em out just in case....

buy some rain take offs if you really wanna ride in the rain.

Is it likely there will be trackside tire swapping services avail?

Lol. Didnt say I wanted to do it. I'll either throw on the Q2s, see if I could source some rains before the wknd or see if I can switch to sun instead :)

Sorry, couldn't resist.

TMP is very slick in the rain. If it's just damp you'll destroy full rains but you'd also have to take it easy on DOTs... soo.. is it worth it?

I am signed up for Sat as well and will be staying home if it rains like they are calling for, why risk f-ing up you and your bike.

Np, man.

Good points raised all around. If its raining, I'll just sit it out - not worth the needless risk with my street bike. Lesson learned: Next time, I'll pay the $20 bucks extra at the gate.

Supercorsa's are sooooo bad in the wet. The Q2 is better but no where near good enough to track them. Get rain's just in case or hope the weather is clear.

Listen to him ^

I had Q2's and they were pretty bad in puddles. Unless you want a casual stroll around the track, don't use them in standing water conditions.

Turned out to be a non-issue: Saturday was perfect weather wise :)
