Suggestion for a wider helmet

I'm planning on going to go buy a new helmet on Thursday. I've had my Shoei GT Air for about 10 years and I think it's time for something new. I've always found that it doesn't take long for the sides of my jaw to start hurting when wearing the GT Air, like I'm being squeezed.

Can anyone recommend a brand or model that provides more room for a wider jaw. I like the flip down sun visor and pin-lock double outer visor but co-workers have shown these same features on more economically priced HJC helmets.

My first helmet was a S&S S1000 and it was comfortable except it seemed odd that I could touch the chin bar with my lips and nose. I also have an LS2 half helmet and used to have an LS2 off-road helmet and found both comfortable but didn't put in much time with the full face and am thinking that I'd like something more high-end then LS2.

Does anyone have some opinions on helmet shapes?

The GT-Air has very thick and firm cheekpads, but you can get thinner ones. I'd look at swapping those first if you're otherwise happy with the fit around your crown.

I found the GT-Air to be too round for my narrow head and tried switching to an RPHA(HJC) 70 ST, but it ended up having a very similar fit and also didn't work for me, but you might like it. Both have dropdown visors and pinlock.

edit: a lot of helmets in the top half of the price range also have diffferent width cheekpads available. The 70 ST pads are about $50

I also have a very wide head lol For me Shoei was the best option for years, I had 3 RF series helmets - RF1000, 1200 and now 1400.
The other option what worked for me are HJC helmets (my spare/secondary helmets).

Def i do not recommend Scorpion, made a mistake buying it and it fits very narrow, hearting my head if ride for more than 2 hrs...

I also found that lidpicker.com is very accurate, just find similar helmet to what you have and you should be good to go... too bad they don't have all models there....

I suffer the same probs with Shoei and most other brands.
Test a Signet series Arai. (made for our, more rounded heads)

The Signet is Arai's narrowest helmet. If you're going with Arai, you want the Quantum for round heads.

Also stay away from the Bell Star if you have a round head. The Star is the only helmet that has ever fit my narrow head correctly.

Signet-X is their Long-Oval:
The Signet-X has Arai's LONG OVAL (LO) interior fit shape. Exclusively made for the North American market, the SIgnet-X is Longer front-to-back and a more narrow side-to-side (as compared to Intermediate Oval).*

Quantum-X is Round-Oval:
The Quantum-X has Arai's ROUND OVAL (RO) interior fit shape. Shorter front-to-back and a little wider side-to-side (as compared to Intermediate Oval).*

I'd heard in the past that Bell made a more round helmet. It seems like I often see mixed info on helmet shapes. In the end I know that I'm going to have to try a bunch on but I appreciate the direction. Maybe I'll only try on 50 helmets instead of 100
