Steering Head Bearings

The weather's completely de-motivated me from building my track bike but now that we seem to be back on track theres a fire under my *****.

I just ordered an All Balls tapered head kit for my 08 600RR and Im wondering if anyone knows a reputable machine shop to get the old races off and press the new ones in. I would be bringing them them just the bare frame and the lower triple so maybe it doesnt necessarily have to be a bike shop? Anything closer to midtown, Yonge & Eglinton would be best but Im willing to drive out for quality people.

Just to confirm - the upper top race is loose right? That is, its placed by hand and torqued with a series of those funky Honda nuts right?

dont need a machine shop to do that....actually you dont need any special tools to do this job...

I can do that for you.

TOP: Inside race is lose, the outside race is in the neck.
Bottom: the inside race is on the neck, the outside race on the neck.

I took my steering stem and bottom triple with pressed on old bearing race, and the new bearing race, to Riders Choice. They charged me 15 minutes labour to pull off the old race and press on the new one. I probably could have done it myself, but I think I've read too many DIY's gone wrong, and didn't want to damage the stem.

bring your stuff to rosey toes, i will show you the proper way of doing this 416-241-2523 400/401 area closest shop to you.
