Stator Cover - Hairline Crack - options?

Hi all,
Have a hairline crack in my stator cover. I was told it was possible to have it welded?
Does anyone have recommendations and/or an approximate cost?

Cost of a new one is about $150 so I'm just weighing the options here.

What kind of bike!? I don't know much about welding, so I can't help you there. However, I'm sure you can source a used one for fairly cheap.
 
Better off replacing it. If it is welded even slightly off, your stator will hit the flywheel and blow out the stator. Happened on my old VFR.
 
Shouldn't be under too much pressure, JB Weld is worth a try
 
What kind of bike is it?
When I cracked mine I got a Brand new one from the dealership for $70.....
 
JB weld it or just replace it. When it comes to motorcycles $150 is nothing.
