Statefarm, wrong info (no agent here) ==> Now I have a bike that I can't insure.

Hey guys

So I previously owned a 2007 ZZR-600 that was dubbed as sports touring with Jevco.

Decided that I would sell the bike for monetary reasons. The itch got the better of me and found a good deal on a 2003 Yamaha R6 which I have purchased based on quotes I was given by a statefarm agent (not any on this board) as I found that I would be able to afford it after all.

Well turns out this agent gave me the wrong info, typed in my driving history wrong ( I in no way misled them) and gave me a quote that was not valid.

So here's my dilemna, I have a bike that hasnt been transferred to my name yet but is in my possession. My options are as follows:

1.) Find a company that will insure be at a resonable rate (Jevco won't touch SS without a premium same with statefarm)
I would like to find alternative insurance providers that might be able to insure me. if any of you agents could recommend a company to me, by all means please do. Some background of my driving history is as follows. PM with any help would be appreciated.

2.) Sell the bike - I guess it was fate.
Seeing as I have not even transferred ownership of the bike yet, what is the best way to do this? Do I need a safety to register it as a safety fit, uninsured motorcycle in my name?

I swear you made another thread exactly like this before...

Edit: nevermind, it was someone else with "Should I sue my insurance company"

Have you tried to get quotes from other insurance companies yet? ie. RBC, TD, Facility (I heard that SOME people actually get good rates with facility...)

This thread could help when it comes to getting an idea of who to call.... Although it is outdated...:

I would be thinking Jevco or selling is your ONLY option here bud...It's jus not looking good wit that kind of record for anything reasonable , to be frank.

Same thing happened to me. Call your agent again and ask him/her to reevaluate your quote. If not request to speak to another agent within the brokerage.

For me between 2 agents in the same brokerage inputing my info I got 2 totally different quotes. Also I know you can't move from one statefarm agent to another you can try to get written quotes from others and present to your agent.

Unfortunately Jevco is no longer an option for SS bikes

OP, your insurance record (at-fault + Major Conviction) is not good and you're looking to insure a SS bike that is high risk. High-risk operator + High-risk bike = Undesirable risk for the insurer. With your record, I'm surprised that you would even qualify for State Farm. In fact, I'd be surprised if you could even find a reasonable rate on a low-risk non-SS bike like your previous Ninja 250.

No other insurer that I'm aware of will affordably write a SS bike for someone under 30yo. I'm afraid you will probably have to sell the bike and wait for your record to clear up.
