Statefarm: 500cc now considered SS?

So I got a quote for 2005 Ninja 500R from Statefarm and my agent said I'd be paying $268/month ($3216/year). He even quoted me for a 2005 GSXR-600 and it's exactly the same premium.

Does this sound right (Well I know it was done on their system so it couldn't be wrong)? I guess Statefarm changed their policy now?

With those premiums, I might as well stick to a Ninja 250 since my premium would be $133/month (21 years old, currently GM1).

Statefarm doesn't have SS penalties yet, they rate only by engine size. You are young with an M1, cheap(er) insurance will come in 4 years or so.

500 and 600 are in the same price bracket for state farm.
Makes sense.. Would the argument of "the manufacturer specifications says it's 498cc so it's not exactly 500cc" work? Lol

Yea I guess.. If anything I'll just start with a 250.

State farm doesn't give their big discount till you have had you G for 5 years.
I pay $71/month for an 01 Honda CBR600 F4i with full coverage and I got that 2 days after I got my M1 with no Motorcycle safety course.
They don't take into account what M license you have or experience and they don't give a discount for taking the MSF course. But if you have had your G for 5 years they cant be beat.

$71 a month?? How old? I'm same position ( 00 r6, G for over 10 years, just got m2) but pay 125 per month.

Try Riders Plus. They gave me a quote cheaper than State Farm.

Switch your car insurance to them.
They were $5/month more then who I was with previously for the car insurance but when you bring your car to them they will give you a $50/month discount on your Motorcycle.
I'm 28 and that was with after getting my M1 one day earlier.
