My experience was vastly different - didn't end up going with statefarm as they couldn't touch my insurance price for my car - but she was pleasant to deal with.
How did she almost get you to sell your bike?
NOV. 1st of last year, there was some changes to their acceptance criteria.
It used to be 5 years from the date you got your G1.
I had called before then and got a quote that I was happy with, all was well.
Post NOV.1st a buddy of mine called the same office (I had recommended her) and she told him it's now 6 years since the date of your G1.
I called again to confirm and she said that it has been recently changed to 6 years and it's not in her hands to do anything.
Left me the entire winter thinking what I'm gonna do, I shopped around with other companies and the cheapest quote I got was 5000$ one way with fire/theft and I couldn't justify spending that kind of $$$.
On a whim, I called my current agent and the first thing I asked, how many years do you have to have since your G1 to qualify, he said 5 years for the b-plan and 6 years for the a-plan. I told him that I've been told that it's 6 years now and I wouldn't qualify with just 5 years.... He said he would contact the head office to confirm and that he would get back to me.
Half an hour later, I get a call back from him saying that his information was correct. I am definitely eligible for SF as long as I don't have more than 2 tickets on my records. Signed the policy the same day and that was the end of that.
If Carolyn would have picked up the phone and contacted head office, she would saved me a lot of grief and disappointment and earned herself a customer.
