State Farm wants to have a look at my bike after buying a policy

Got my temp insurance slip. SS wants to get a copy of the ownership and sign a couple of documents so that's ok. In addition they want me to bring in the bike so they can look at it. Is this common?

That's normal.....When I had my GSXR insured with them, they snapped a pic while it was on the trailer, as I was passing by their office en route to Deal's Gap,LOL

They just want to know the condition for any future claims.

Thanks for the explanation. None of this happened when I was with Riders Plus. I guess ss bikes are more scrutinized.

Its not that you have an SS .. they did this for my 50cc scooter .. they took a picture of the odometer and overall condition ...

Just a word of warning .. and this solely my own personal opinion and experience with state farm ... make sure the paperwork is right. I dealt with an individual out of the mississauga branch (2055 Dundas Street East) who was ESL .... I got a letter in the mail indicating that my policy was cancelled due to misrepresentation .... and it was because the lady I dealt with from that office .... filled out my paperwork wrong and the underwriter cancelled the policy. When I called the underwriter .... who understood me ... he told me that my paperwork said I was married but refused to verify / produce my partners information .. (I'm single) .. ??

Just make sure everything is right .. and I'm sure you wont have a problem.

I called several Statefarm agents all with different protocalls. It really depends. One of them needed me to bring my bike over while another agent said I could just email it. Prices vary by agent too. One of the agents also said I needed to bring my own driving record from the MTO to prove what I say to them.

They asked me to email a couple of pictures, probably to see overall condition. Never asked for pics of odometer.

This seems to be common practice with them. I sent them a pic of my bike plus a closeup of the VIN on the frame.
