starting issue's ???

Well I've had my hayabusa out for awhile now, and it has an alarm on it but it seems everytime I park it it always dead when I let it sit for a few days...

I knew the alarm pulls power from battery when it activated, but even with the alarm off the battery seems to be dead anyway....

Is there a way to stop that ? Like a special inline fuse protector or something ?? I'd like to be able to start the bike even if it has sat for a few weeks, but that isn't the case I have to start it every week or more for it to continue to start properly....

I took the battery out for winter, and every so often I would put it on a charger to kEep charge in it but maybe that didn't help I'm not sure ?

You could wire in a switch to disconnect the battery when you park.

Something like these.

The switch is just a bandaid though, personally I would try to track down the leak and fix it. You could start by testing the battery and see if it is needs replacing (canadian tire and lots of other stores will test it for free if you bring it into the store). If the battery is good, you could either directly check for draw on each circuit, or pull all the fuses except for 1 and see if it starts in a few days. Keep adding fuses until the battery dies. The last circuit you connected has the problem.

I'll just about guarantee the alarm is leaking enough current to drain the battery, even if it's not activated. (Been there ...)

Solution 1: take out the alarm.

Solution 2: get a battery tender and put the quick-connect plug (fused) on the bike, and plug it in EVERY time you park the bike.

it never had this problem before ..... Ever since the alarm was put on it has been doing this all along.... The alarm was installed by a shop and they followed the instruction step by step .. ????

That's exactly what someone else said to me..... Then I can hide the pplug in part right under my trunk lid of the hayabusa :) very sneaky hehehehe

Does royal distributing have em by chance ?
