“Our motorcycle pricing reflects a significant increase in the number and severity of claims in Ontario related to motorcycle accidents,” said Crystal Jongeward, manger of corporate communications at TD Insurance. “Our rates nevertheless remain competitive.”

Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha....No.

FWIW, TD MM wants between $300-600/year more for my bike compared to everyone else.

Direct writers have always been outrageously expensive compared to companies that primarily deal in cars and will only write a motorcycle policy in conjunction with the rest of the package. Not surprised to see TD is sucking just as hard as ever.

TD wanted $3300 to insure my 400, while Aviva was $1900. $1400 difference for the same thing. That price TD gave me was at a 'discounted rate,' because we have insured already with them 2 homes, 4 cars, and 2 atv's, while Aviva was stand alone. Real competitive pricing.

LOL same....they even tried to tell me they offer better protection for $1500 than $1171 (Aviva), when I actually get MORE with Aviva on a bike only policy, including a waiver of depreciation.

TD sounds just like Rogers offering me 500 daytime minutes and free weekends and 500MB of data for $75/month because I have been a customer since 1997. WIND offered me UNLIMITED EVERYTHING for $33/month taxes included without knowing me.

When I left Rogers they 'accidentally' charged me an extra month, then when I called to complain they converted it to a credit on my account, however there was one issue with that...I had no more Rogers services. Had to call and complain again, and the CSR said they guessed they could credit my VISA instead but it wasn't standard practice.

Be reasonable, Wind's coverage is significantly worse than any of the big names. I'm with you hating on Rogers or Bell, but that $42 difference isn't *all* ripoff, at least part of it provides the value of a better network.

Not to thread hijack but I disagree; total ripoff. I have that plan for $45 with Rogers. No reason for them to charge $30 more.

I've been using Wind for 4 years now, and agree with him. You get significantly better and faster service with one of the 'big three' compared to Wind. There's a good reason the "same" plan I'd need and currently pay $27/month for is $75 on Rogers. While I can't justify paying that, I definitely see why others could.
