Hwy 24 is presently closed, a sport bike is on the road,, and a deer is 20ft away. I sure hope the rider can GWS.

Having been hit by a deer at 60mph 2 weeks ago I know that pain all too well. GWS rider.

I t-boned one last year up north too, they are sooo unpredictable, so I know what this is all about, I hope the rider is ok.

Thanks for the GWS's. That was my bike. Deer came out of no where and I hit it at about 80-85km/h. I don't remember much after the initial hit.

I regained consciousness with 4-6 people gathered around me. A trucker had called 911. I broke my right collar bone in 2 spots, broke 3-4 ribs on my right side, fractured my left elbow and thumb, and got a bit of road rash on my legs. I was taken to Brantford General and was released yesterday evening.

I consider myself lucky to have gotten out of that without sustaining worse injuries. Very sore and in some serious pain (ie. Toradol & T3's don't seem to help much).

Here's a couple shots of the bike from today at the impound yard:

Get well soon dude, sorry about your pains and bike, the most important thing is that you are here to tell us all about it.

wow. a yr since you joined the forum, and this has to be your first post! I got quite a scare seeing that bike / deer ... and am glad to hear you will be getting better!

I know. Not a great first post! I don't remember much after seeing the deer.. It's all a hazy blur. Thank god people were around to call 911!

I wish! :D The deer was gone the next day apparently. The deer was decapitated.. too bad as I could have mounted the head above my fireplace!

Better yet, mount it on the handlebars of your new bike, so the deer know not to mess with you.

GWS Bud. Hope you get back on a bike once healed up :)
