They like to sit northbound under the Lawrence Avenue bridge as well. Southbound at Lawrence is also a popular spot.

I often see them just over 401 at left hand side SB... once one passes the exit to Yorkdale, they are waiting for him/her. Sometimes there is more than one cruiser...
 
Allen Road in general is usually swamped with radar traps.

I see more going southbound than north, but often see the trap OP mentioned.
 
Rode in today on that route, the traffic was so backed up on the exit to Lawrence, everything was slowed to a crawl...I didn't see them, but I was there around 9:30...
 
I live near there, they are known for traps. This was also said in the news about last year too.
 
Usually they sit on Eglington and radar south bound traffic because the speed limit changes from 80 to 60. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide.
