speed channel is gone from rogers

Just another reason why not to go with rogers for tv, internet, mobile phone or basically any service they offer.

Bell is dropping Speed in May.

I'm not quite getting....."Last year, the operator of the channel decided to stop making Speed Channel available to the majority of TV customers in the United States". Where is the business logic in this?

The only reason I have the VIP package is for the speed channel, I'm calling now to cancel. thanks for the update

Roger dropping speed is why I'm switching to bell. If bell drops it where will we see motogp and supercross? Is that coverage going elsewhere or is it gone altogether?

I would hope Fox would shift the coverage to Canadian broadcasted Fox affiliate like WUTV. This would be the only hope.

The sports media in Canada has little to no interest in motorcycle racing of any kind and I don't see Fox Sports1 coming to Canada any time soon, as TSN and Rodgers already hold the Canadian broadcasting rights to most of FS1's programming, and the CRTC will certainly be there to make sure our poor little Canadian telecoms don't get the shaft (sarcasm) and implement so many blackouts FS1 would be off air 3/4's of the day.

I knew this was coming about a year ago. I have the VIP only for speed as well. I voiced my concern to stupid rogers by a phone call and letter. Obviously that did nothing.
I would have appreciated a replacement for Speed such as FOX sports 1, Bein Sport or Eurosport. That didn't happen either.
Speeds coverage was becoming horrible anyway, especially for MotoGP. After last years fiasco of interrupting the moto 3 deciding race with old Nascar coverage I had enough and bought a Moto gp season pass.

The only thing on speed I am going to miss now is United Sports Car Championship and 24hrs of Lemans. I don't follow NASCAR anyway.
This is how my schedule is now,
F1 =TSN
Moto Gp= Season Pass Online
World Superbike=Youtube (usually a couple hours after each race gets posted)
United sports car, FIA GT, Le Mans = I am screwed lol

I'm seriously debating direct tv as that will fill my motorsports needs. I am done with ROGERS, they make me sick and they are thieves.

Keep us posted if anyone finds anymore info and if the programs will get filtered through to other networks.

i strongly dislike Rogers. However every time I consider moving to another provider, I hear poor things about them also. We can't win in Canada, we are just getting rapped all together.

The MotoGP basic package comes out to over $150 (which I don't really have to spare) for the season when converted from Euros, and my go-to for WSBK on You-Tube has been deleted for "Repeated copyright violations". It's going to be a really looooooong year.

Form Toronto Star columnist Norris McDonald: "When I learned that Rogers was dropping the Speed Channel as of March 1, I wrote a column saying that if you wanted to watch the 12 Hours of Sebring you should call Bell. That still stands, but if you want to see the 24 Hours of Le Mans, you'd better either fly to France or else cross the border into the United States and rent a motel room that has Fox Sports 1 on the TV because Bell is dropping Speed as of the beginning of May."

Also form Toronto Star columnist Norris McDonald

"Fox Sports is blocked from broadcasting on cable and/or satellite systems in Canada because of our protectionist laws that only allow us to watch all-sports channels like TSN and the various Sportsnet channels"

Thank you CRTC. You have shaped a Canadian landscape in which 2 company's share 80% of the market, and make Billions! They have no competition, not even each other. They work together to buy assets such as MLSE, and it seems pretty obvious they work together to set prices in the Canadian market, they are a Monopoly in nearly every sense, just not on paper, thank you CRTC for making sure no "evil" American corporations could get in the way of our poor little helpless telecoms, Where would they be without you?

Haven't watched Tv for years but I can say I'm going to miss speed channel

It's not that I like Nascar,

It's not about F1,

It's certainly not about MotoGP( I'm new to this riding world!)

...just the fact that I used to get a channel dedicated to motorsports...and now it's gone...
