I don't normally visit the oh so popular "I Saw you" thread nor care to post about other riders and their actions but I thought Id make an exception and share what I witnessed today since this was a special kind of stupid.
It all started around Eglinton and Kipling when i saw 3 bikes make a left hand turn off a side street onto Eglinton. A simple left hand turn to most but these guys were in such a hurry that 2 lanes on Eglinton weren't wide enough to make this high speed turn (20-25km/h :lmao and one of them had to use the 3rd lane which was the bus stop.
I thought their luck was going to run out right there, but somehow Pedrosa, Marquez and Lorenzo all made it in one piece to the next set of lights.
Past the next set of lights (martin grove) these expert riders decided that at 7:30 pm with 3 lanes of heavy traffic they will at the last second dart from the far left lane to the far right while slamming on their brakes. What could possibly go wrong?
Causing a chain reaction everyone slammed on the brakes causing a nice ripple effect that went back 10-15 cars..but
once again with a bit of luck and precision riding they all made it safely across. Forget the near collisions and everyone behind you, now the 3 stooges dart for the 427 North ramp, with nothing in their sights except a pickup truck moving along at about the speed limit.
No worry, their high performance bikes, (appeared to be a couple sv's and a black 600) decided to overtake the pickup on the shoulder. A cloud of dust came up as two of them made the pass, the third guy possibly ran out of guts or steam and decided not to pass.
First guy made it up the ramp, the second one wasn't so lucky. Perhaps it was the cold tires, or all that garbage on the shoulder from the construction, or perhaps entering a ramp at 100+ was a poor choice.
Whatever it was luckily for the rider the guard rail ends a little bit before he went off, hopefully didn't fixate on one of those steel signs advising you to turn right.
So ya...
