Spark Issues! ... all the time?

It boggles my mind ???

I got a 1981 Honda CB 650 Custom, and it just won't start. She's been a good bike to me and has always been taken care of. Except for last season I put her away wet, meaning that I did no winterize and just parked her. When I removed the spark plugs I noticed that there is spark as soon as I turn the key on. That's right it just starts sparking away with out even hitting the start button or for that matter without it even turning over. I have fixed a lot of bikes but never seen anything like this before. Any ideas anyone?? I know last season I also had some troubles with the starter solenoid sticking and I had to tap it occasionally to get it turned over. If I think about this very carefully I think it can only be the CDI, cause the bike is able to produce spark which eliminates plugs, coils, stop switch, battery... maybe the pulse generator? but then again it looks like the spark as rhythm to it.

If any body could give me some insight to it that would be just fantastic. Thank you!

Disconnect the pulse generator and switch the ignition on. Check to see if you still have sparks.
No -> Check the resistance of the pulse generator and maybe replace?
Yes-> Looks like the CDI is bad. Check for any loose or corroded connections at the CDI.

Good Luck!
