Long time lurker, never had a reason to join till now.
I plan on doing my M1/M2 this season not sure what kind of bike I should get so I thought I would ask you wonderful people for help.

Well there is a big ocean of bikes, you can't go wrong with a 125 or a 250. Telling ya, just buy a used bike and ride it for a season then resell it.
 
I know a lot of people who purchase a used 125 or 250 and upgrade next year. Personally, i am happy with a Ninja 300. When you do your M2, take a course and try out different bikes there. Sheridan had a CBR125, loved it :)
 
Welcome buddy. Lots of good stickies on this forum. Just my 2 cents, you do not need to start with a 125 or 250. Most people will tell you to get a 250, but in my opinion, you can easily start on a 600. There's nothing wrong with that. You respect the throttle, the bike respects you, it's simple. I was 18 when I got my first bike, and it was a 2012 gsxr 600. Did not drop it once, did not get in an accident, and I am still alive today to type this out for you. Try out different bikes, see what you can handle. Good luck man and as always, stay safe!
