soon to be new rider

conundrum

Hey,

Figured it was time to post on of these -- made an account a few months back and been reading the forums for a while now (wanted to get my license back in fall, but didn't work out before the end of season). Anyhow, picked up all the required gear from GP Bikes on boxing day, signed up with RTI for April, and hoping to get a CBR250RA as my first bike.

welcome, the 250 will be a great first bike to start with.

welcome to the forum!

Wow, with new gear for the new season, you must be just itching to get going. Welcome!

LOL definitely true -- It just doesn't look right sitting in the hallway closet.

Also possibly stopping by Brampton this week to see if they have any CBR250RAs left (probably don't), or will talk numbers on a 2012 CBR250RA they'd have to order in. (I have another friend buying too, so I'm hoping we'll get more negotiating room going in together).

welcome, if you haven't already, you might want to start searching for a new ride ASAP, in the spring they tend to go up in price with the start of the season

Shop for insurance if you haven't already, state farm is good if you meet their criteria. Welcome and ride safe

Welcome to the forum!! Excellent choice for your first bike!

Just pulled the trigger yesterday and bought a new 2011 Honda CBR250RA (paid a bit more than I hoped, but it was the only one I could find with ABS in red, and got all the Honda incentives ($350), plus another $100 off and free first service, free storage until April and/or delivery).

It's going to suck having to wait until April to ride it (might have to break it out in March prior to my course to play with it a little) -- Now I know what you guys say about getting/having PMS (Parked Motorcycle Syndrome) LOL.

Already called TD MM (I have my car and condo with them), and they said $1172/year. Still need to give both State Farm and Jevco a call next week -- I have a clean record, and am 29 (almost 30...cringe) so I should be good to go.

State farm is classed solely on engine size. Im 23 and had a 250 insured through them for less than 500 a year with fire and theft. I bet your price will be around that full coverage. I pay 1200 for a cbr600rr with them now
