Yes it was his Baton. The cop was smart he pulled ahead of traffic and then caused all cars to stop thus preventing the bikes from simply pulling away had he tried to stop them in the conventional manner. I doubt these two would have run as the lead bike had the opportunity to do so while the trooper moved his patrol unit. I agree with the comments on the video the poster SHOULD have blurred out the officer's face, (he is likely pulling desk duty for a little while).
 
As for the "secret" revealed by the trooper. It really doesn't matter who is related to whom... I posted this on 02 Oct post # 296 in the video thread.

well people thought there was heavy enforcement at L&L before I can imagine it will be ramped up even more. If I had a sport bike in NY right now I would sell it as you will be spending more time sitting at police spot checks then riding.

It is a simple fact that the way all cops think is this crap has to stop. I also suspect that the mayor called the NYPD Commissioner, and said this is a "black eye" on our city are we going to increase enforcement?

So the "secret" that there will be increase scrutiny and enforcement, really shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, (in that area).

If this "group" were to post about another ride, you can bet there will be more cops than riders who show up. Also expect heavy discipline for those off duty cops who participated in the ride.

Yeah I really dont think it makes too big of a deal.. It is what it is. The NYC mayor coulda made the could or some highranking police commissioner... Either way the call was made and ***** getting cracked down on.
