I have been riding for 1.5 years, so i am still a noob.

Last night coming in from a ride, i came home and had to open my garage, my driveway is on a hill ( yes i am DUMB!!) but i normally have no problems, as you can guess, i got off the bike, put the side stand on, opened the garage , turned around and saw the bike on it's side ( still running ) i picked up the bike then it shut off , i know since i have tipped it over before, that it shuts off, however i still tried to turn it on and off. Mind you by this time is was 10pm alreadya nd pitch dark. I had to bend the gear back out since i knocked it in. As the bike was off, i smelt gas. but no puddles. But once i moved the bike back adn forth i saw a little drip of gas ( oil?) of the bottom, so i moved the bike back again and only 2 small drips fall off. At this point ia m panicking and the fact i have to be up at 3 for work isn't helping. So i take the battery out and decide to charge it. I got up this monring , looking at the charger i had put the damn - + on the wrong part ( huge fail on my part ) so then i switched it, went to the gym came back an hour later, put it back into my bike. wouldn't start unless i ave throttle, it started but reved pretty high, once i brought the choke down, it was idlign at 3K, i couldn't dring it down more, which i could normally do... so i let it sit for abought 5 min , was getting time i leave, so i jumped on the bike, got into first gear and BOOM, stalled on me, then i tried to start it again and wouldn't start and didn't have time to sit and try to hit the throttle. So i brought the charger and battery to my work and charging for about 6 hours.

Any ideas as to what happend? is there more to the story that i know?

Did you forget to put the kickstand up before putting it into gear? Most bikes have a pin that the kickstand pushes on/in when its up which allows the bike to start and stay running. When the pin isn't pushed in, the engine wont start or stay running.

The bit of gas leaking was probably from the overflow hose.

The 3k revving could be caused by a vacuum leak. One of the carb or airbox boots could of jolted loose on impact.

i think your battery is fine, doesn't need to be charged.

to think of it , not sure , i may have, while i bent the gear back into place, i used my hand to make sure if was smoothly, then i put it back into nutreul, how do i tell if this is the case? that the pin is lose?
 
What made you decide to put your battery on a charger in the first place? If your battery can't hold a charge over night, you need a new battery.
 
when i put ther battery to charge last night.. i didn't hook it up correctly, so this morning i only got 1 hour charge, the reason i charged it was because i tried many times to start the bik,e and i know it draines the battery

so i came home started the bike with one start, let the bike run for 5 min then took a little spin on my street, was fine, however once i stopped, i was losing power and kept trying to rev, the bike finally stalled,


i am letting it sit then try it again, this time i won't be such a dumb *** and let it sit for longer,

how long should i let it sit idle?

also i searched why my ide was high, i think when the bike tipped, it hit the idle switch on the left, but one thing i notices was it was reved at NO choke, but as i started to give choke that is when the bike was starting to lose power, it is possible it got switched? turning down which normally gives chock and when i flip up it give more rather then less?
 
so i let tet the bike idle for 15 min, it was getting very warm around the body, as i sat on the bike, i started to rev the throttle and it lost power.. any ideas??
