Hey folks, I am new to riding and looking for some scenic routes to take my dad on while he is visiting. We are both new riders this season with 4500-6500 km experience so far. Dad is here for a couple of weeks so we are looking for some nice trips. We have done the forks and Hockley Rd, been to Bobcageon and Hastings so far.

Any suggestions?

Thanks and I love this forum.

Southwood rd and the muskoka area. Just get lost up there for a few hours and then come home.

Full of spelling and grammatical errors because or was sent from tapatalk.

I would have to say at this point I would not suggest Southwood 13. It's certainly one of the better roads in southern Ontario, but it's very tight, poor sight lines and usually quite sandy. If your still fairly new to riding rs quite easy to get carried away and go down. Don't get me wrong everybody in SO with 2 wheels should try it but it's probably not suitable for a secnic ride with dad

I ride a lot in the Muskoka's, you should look at Muskoka rd 38 into Bala or big chute rd. A little further north you could do a ride across 118 over to 28 south of Bancroft. It's scenic
with a lot of sweepers. Quite a few lovely lake views as well

Lots of nice riding in the Niagara area ..Very nice if you go along the old number 3 after Dunnville..Take you right out to Fort Erie , then ride the Niagara Parkway right though Niagara Falls to Niagara on the Lake.

That's a good route

My former riding partner did these up for new riders and light machine riders.

I'm west Mississauga - been riding the area for decades - happy to hook up on an evening and spin you through some of the areas towards Guelph and KW and around the Ancaster /Waterdown/Campbellville area.
email me

Heading out tonight for a few hours tho not far - emailed you if you want to hook up.

You can always ride Muskoka beach road 17, then in Gravenhurst hook up with Doe lake road and Housey rapids and come in South through Rama. It sure to entertain.

One could spend a day heading up to Wasaga. Hockley Valley Road is fine. But there are a heck of a lot nicer roads just north of that. Almost every East/West Road is paved and gorgeous, either following valleys or across the tops of ridges or both. I usually just zig/zag back and forth between Hwy 10 and Airport Rd (south of Hwy 89) and zig/zag between Airport Rd and Hwy 24.

Wow! That is awesome. Thanks.

up past orillia. . . 35/118/21 all good. broad sweepers, nice scenery.

If that looks like too much, you could hit up Monks road - 503. . . though its a tad longer than 5 hrs.

I'm also in brampton. Lately my route when going for a ride of that length is as follows.

-410 Northbound to 10/Hurontario.
-Continue Northbound on 10/Hurontario
-Left onto Forks of th Credit Rd.
-Continue thru Forks then Right onto Mississauga Rd.
-Take Mississauga Rd thru Alton and into Orangeville
-Orangeville to Hockley Valley rd.
-Ride Eastbound on Hockley Valley. Cross Airport Rd.
-Rest at Hockley Valley General Store
-Head Back Westbound on Hockley to Airport Rd.
-Northbound onto Airport Rd. Then Left onto 8
-Follow 8 to 10. Go right/Northbound on 10
-Left onto 89. Then Right onto 124.
-Right onto River Rd. Enjoy 16 miles of Curves.
-Turn around and do the same route back.

I had a much better route Iused to take all the time but 15 Sideroad is bugger'd so now I ride this route.

This is a fun route and should be easy to complete in your five hour time frame.
